So the journey within a journey continues through my travels in India. Spending up to 25 hours travelling on trains and 14 hours on buses, watching people and landscapes change mile by mile and enduring the heat and cramped conditions, staying in ashrams designed for the disciples of Krishna…this is no tourist ashram! Really makes you look at yourself, your thoughts, your life, your judgements and makes you journey within to find patience, understanding and the stamina to deal with the events that unfold. This is unfamiliar territory and spending time in holy cities such as Vrindavan and Varanasi, visiting temples, and spiritual sites really makes you look at the world with new eyes. Of course a journey can’t be complete without a little shopping and the pink palace district for which Jaipur is famous, then getting caught in the aftermath of political protests all added to the excitement, madness and love that India creates for you.
